Lecture one nerve stuff again Flashcards
(19 cards)
what nerves does the facial nerve give rise to and where
going through the parotid gland gives off 5 nerve branches:
temporal, zygomatic, buccal, mandibular, cervical
how many branches are there of the ophthalmic nerve, what are they
3, they are the facial, lacrimal, nasociliary
what does the frontal nerve divide into and where
inside the orbit divides into the supraorbital and supratrochlear nerves
what is the supply of the frontal nerve
remember this is done through the supraorbital and supratrochlear
supplying upper eyelid, forehead and scalp
what does the lacrimal gland supply
sensation of the lateral skin and conjuntiva of the eyelid
what does the nasociliary nerve supply
sensory nere to the eye, also the dorsum of the nose
whats the nerve division of the nasociliary nerve
this is the nasal nerve that supplies the dorsum of the nose
what is the branch of the maxillary nerve that is given off before the maxillary nerve goes into the pterygopalatine fossa
the zygomatic nerve
what does the zygomatic nerve supply
the skin over the zygomatic bone
maxillary division enters the inferior orbital fissure as the what
infraorbital nerve
what does the inferior orbital nerve supply
lower eyelid, cheek and upper lip
the mandibular nerve divides into anterior and posterior divisions, before doing that what does it do
gives off a nerve branch to the medial pterygoid nerve
whats the nerves of the anterior division of the mandibular nerve
motor to lateral pterygoid, temporalis and masseter.
one sensory branch to the buccal nerve
whats the buccal nerve supply
skin to the cheek and vestibular gum
whats the nerves of the posterior division of the mandibular nerve
all sensory except the motor to the mylohyoid
sensory branches are auriculotemporal, lingual, inferior alveolar
whats the function of the auriculotemporal nerve
skin of the temporal region
whats the function of the mental nerve, whats the mental nerve a branch of
from inferior alveolar nerve from the mental foramen, supplying the chin and lower lip
nerve origin of greater auricular nerve
C2 and C3
function of the greater auricular nerve
supplies skin over auricle and mandibular angle
