Key Structure #1

แต่ means “only; nothing but; just (spoken Thai)”

แต่ is used to express exclusivity, meaning “only this” and nothing else. It’s commonly used before nouns or noun phrases. Unlike แค่, it cannot be used before amounts or verbs.

Structure:
Subject + Verb + แต่ + Noun / Object

ทั้ง…ทั้ง… means “both… and…; as well as.”

The structure ทั้ง…ทั้ง… is used to show that two qualities, things, or actions are true at the same time. It emphasizes that both parts are equally important and happen together.

Structure:
ทั้ง + Word/Phrase A + ทั้ง + Word/Phrase B

ทั้งๆ ที่ means “even though; although; despite the fact that.”

This structure expresses contrast — something happened even though the situation might suggest it shouldn’t have.

Structure:
ทั้งๆ ที่ + Clause A, + Clause
