Chair fly through Engine Start Checklist
Gate C12. SEA 9 departure per Rwy 34R per PDC then as filed (direct BUWZO, KRATR2).
Brief as much as you can (i.e., WAANT, PDX ATIS, and KRATR2).
Eng Start
Expect a Hung Start or No Light Off (perform TEAM and MQQN) memory
items, QRC, QRH, Normal Checklist)
Taxi, takeoff, and departure
Normal
After 10K
Review PDX ATIS, get LDG numbers (no ACARS-so tell instructor RCCs, Rwy,
FLAPS, and etc.), then he’ll give it to you. Plan RNAV (GPS) X 28L.
After 17000’
Expect a HYD 3 Pump A EICAS. Some instructors are giving it during TOC fuel
checks or during the WAANT
Recommend stopping the WAANT and run TEAM with MQQN. This will prioritize task (memory
items, QRC, QRH, Normal Checklist) between TOD and holding, then do the WAANT prior to or
during holding
Prior to TOD:
Received crossing instruction at KRATR AT 15000’ and a speed restriction at
SSUN for 210kts.
After TOD
Holding instructions at LIQWD AT 6000’.
Don’t forget 200kts at 6000’.
Approach, landing, taxi, and shutdown at gate C17
No issues. Don’t forget write ups.
Common Errors
Not doing TOC fuel check because its a short flight, distracted with TOC fuel
check or WAANT and not recognizing EICAS, not prioritizing task (i.e., MQQN).
What should you do when you’re getting vectored for the approach instead of doing the full approach?
Reload the entire approach again instead of of cleaning it up
