Premature neonates born before 35 wks → Poractant alfa (Curosurf) and calfactant (Infasurf)
What is persistent pulmonary HTN or newborn? Cause?
Blood vessels fail to relax → linked to in utero exposure to SSRIs
Tx of newborn PH
Supportive care: NO and pulmonary vasculature dilation
Sildenafil
What are the main pathogens of neonatal meningitis
GBS, Listeria
Tx for neonatal meningitis
Ampicillin (Listeria)
+ Ceftazidime, Cefepime, or Gentamicin
What is the treatment of bronchitis?
Supportive care
RSV vaccine recommended for pregnancy
Abrysvo: 32-36 wks to prevent infant (<6 months) infection

Nirevimab (Beyfortus)
Palivizumab (Synagis)
Indication for Beyfortus vs Synagis?
Beyfortus: neonates ≤8 months born during or entering 1st RSV season
Synagis: Premature infants <29 wks and ≤12 months
Dosing of Beyfortus vs Synagis
Beyfortus: once IM
Synagis: Q1M IM through RSV season
When is RSV season
Late fall, winter, early spring
What is croup
Viral infection → inflammation of upper airway
Hallmark signs of croup?
Inspriatory stridor, barking cough, hoarseness
Common in <6 YO
