  • Respiratory disease (e.g. asthma, COPD, pneumonia, pulmonary fibrosis, obstructive sleep apnoea)
  • Reduced respiratory drive (e.g. head injury, opiate overdose)
  • Neuromuscular disease (e.g. GBS, myasthenia, cord lesions)
  • Thoracic wall disease (e.g. kyphoscoliosis)
  • Obesity.
