Caused by strong acids or alkalis
*wear additional BSI
*activate HazMat
*Always brush off dry chemicals
*remove all clothing, jewelry, shoes,etc/
*flush pt w/copious amounts of water for 15-20min after burning has stopped
*irrigate eyes if affected
*use dry sterile dressings to cover areas affected
Treating Electrical Burns

Never remove pt unless sure power is off
* look for entrance/exit wounds
* there may be substantial deep tissue damage
-force of the energy can break bones
* high risk for cardiac or respiratory arrest/dysrhytmia
* cover wound w/dry, sterile dressing
* splint any fractures
Treating taser & radiation burns
taser:
can cause dysrhythmias or cardiac arrest in pt w/excited delirium
treat as
Treating Abdominal Evisceration
exposed internal organs (insides are out)
* do not touch or move or re-insert exposed organs
* cover the wound w/sterile gauze moistened w/saline water
* secure the bandage in place(preferably w/occlusive dressing)
* if no SMR, flex pt knees to relieve abdominal pressure
