    -natural gas
    -sewer gas
    -certain pesticides
    -carbon monoxide
    -chlorine
  • may require supplemental oxygen
  • never approach a contaminated pt unless you have specialized hazmat training and are using appropriate ppe
    -some inhaled poisons, such as carbon monoxide, are colorless and odorless and produce hypoxia w/out damaging the lungs
