What are rods?
Receptor cells in the retina that detect dim light and help with black-and-white vision.
What are cones?
Receptor cells in the retina that detect bright light and help with colour vision.
What is the pupil?
The central opening in the iris that allows light to enter the eye.
What is the pupillary mechanism?
The regulation of pupil size to control the amount of light entering the eye.
What is accommodation?
The ability of the lens to change shape to focus on near and distant objects.
What is the field of vision?
The area that one eye can see.
What does convex mean?
A shape that curves outward; thicker in the middle than at the edges.
What does concave mean?
A shape that curves inward; thinner in the middle than at the edges.
