A

Sleeping is a recurring, reversible neuro-behavioural state of relative perceptual disengagement from unresponsiveness to the environment

What are the different stages of the sleep cycle

A

Stage1- is essentially when a person falls asleep
Stage 2- is when the body enters a more subdued state
Stage - is a deeper sleep which is harder to wake up someone up from during this phase.
REM- rapid eye movement sleep, sees brain activity starting to pick up, similar to levels seen while a person is awake

A

Avoid exhaustion, and sleep functions for the recovery of the nervous system from synaptic use
Allowing for bodily recovery and growth, it can also benefit the immune system and other key bodily processes.
