What does the term nutrition mean
Nutrition is the intake of food considered in relation to the body’s dietary needs
What does nutrient mean?
A substance that provides nourishment essential for the maintenance of life and for growth
What does macronutrient mean?
The nutrients we need in larger quantities that provide us with energy, fats, protein and carbohydrates
What does micronutrient mean?
Mostly vitamins and minerals, and are equally important but consumed in very small amounts
