Q

What does glycolysis split glucose into? Btw glucose has 6 carbons, so remember to answer in terms of carbons

A
  • splits glucose (6C) into 2 pyruates (3C)

Q

What occurs in the energy investment stage?

A
  • The cell uses ATP to phosphorylate compounds of glucose

- aka adds phosphate to glucose to activate

Q

What is the reaction for the energy investment stage?

A

2 ATP —> 2 ADP + P (energy of activation)

Note that its kind of like paying 2 ATP to activate glucose

Q

What is the reaction for the energy pay off stage? There is two I think

A

4 ADP + P —> 4ATp

2 NAD+ + 4e + 4H+ —> 2NADH + 2H+ (the products r 2NADH essentially)
