Osmotic Laxatives:
-Non-absorbable substances that pull water into lumen
-Increase stool frequency and consistency
Bulk Forming Laxatives
-increase water and bulk of stool
-improves stool consistency
-patient must take with lots of water
Stimulant Laxatives
-increase GI motility
