A

-Will escape slides need to be deployed?
-How long till we land?

Important to always confirm with Captain before preparing cabin for probability of evacuation

Adjust lights to outside conditions

(Continue commands until A/C comes to complete stop)
Step 9-Aircraft stops
(Listen for pilot evacuation decision, it may take up to 30 secs)
Step 10-Pilot orders evacuation
(Flight attendants deliver commands and conduct evacuation)
Step 11-After pax evacuate
Ensure all pax have evacuated
Take emergency equip. As time allows

A

-All ABA’s will hold pax back until doors are opened
-If F/A’s injured-# 1 ABA’s will be responsible for aft exits

A

Ensure non-ambulatory pax are seated in an aisle seat
-assign ABA’s to pax needing assistance
-leave everything behind

Non-Ambulatory Pax evacuation

A

-Assist pax by placing his inboard arm on armrest
Stand behind his seat and grasp his shoulders
-Guide the pax in rolling over the armrest onto the floor
-Pax should end up on his back on the floor
Pull non ambulatory pax to exit, by feet or wrists
-push person out of exit, feet first
-Command someone assist at bottom of slide
-Assistance animals should go down slide with owners
-if they become separated, lead animal to top of slide with leash and push him down slide

Planned emergency-pax with child under 2-

A

-use approved child-restraint system (CRS)-if available
-otherwise, place child in available seat, no padding
-if no seat is available,child should be held in adult’s lap, seat belt around adult only
-During emergency evacuation, child should be held by adult as they jump on the slide/CRS should be left on the seat

Evacuation of the A/C when danger is apparent and still moving
Pilots:

A

-shut down engines
-depressurize aircraft
-set brakes then Captain will:
-Order evacuation or state “Remain Seated”
-Pilots may indicate which exits should be used
-Pilots give command
“Evacuate, evacuate, evacuate”

Exit Aircraft

A

Gather pax and Crew away from a/c and keep them together in a group
Count pax and crew members
Ensure no smoking compliance
Administer first aid if necessary
Maintain control until authorities arrive

Unwarranted Evacuation

A

Pax initiating an unwarranted, undirected evacuation. F/A assess conditions and determine if an evacuation is warranted. Once aware that an unwarranted evacuation, or an attempted evacuation has begun:
-notify flight deck crew immediately with 4 chimes
-specify if any pax has evacuated
-Direct passengers by pa or by shouting commands
