Stretched muscle

A

Stretch activates muscle spindle
Sensory neurons synapse directly with motor neurons in spinal cord
motor neurons cause stretched muscle to contract
Reciprocal inhibition also occurs—IIa fibers synapse with interneurons that inhibit motor neurons of antagonistic muscles
