वैरूप्योपहताश्च

A

वैरूप्योपहताश्च = ‘and those who are deformed and love-struck’ OR ‘those who are deformed and love-struck’ = वैरूप्य (ugliness/deformity) + उपहत (love-struck) + च (and), where the च might just be connecting the whole 2nd hemistich to the first here in this stanza BUT might also instead be pleonastically connecting the two elements of this DV compound together as if they were separate words – something that is seen elsewhere in this book.
\

vairūpyam वैरूप्यम् [विरूपस्य भावः ष्यञ्] 1 Deformity, ugliness; वैरूप्यपौनरुक्त्येन भीषणां तामयोजयत् R.12.4. -2 Difference or diversity of form.
