Impact- transeverse Complications -Radial nerve danger; Callus? -Wrist drop? -during healing Vascular Damage Humeral Brace
What are the traits of Distal humerus fracture?
Unstable fracture
Sling. Surgical reduction
Radial and ulnar nerve danger

Need quick reduction!
Elbow flexion; Sling

Painful to extend against resistance

May need to complete the fracture. Done under sedation. Casting. Sometimes need to pin
What are the traits of wrist dislocation?
Mech: Fall on flexed hand. Need surgical reduction and fixation. lunate keeps slipping out.
What are the traits of a Scaphoid fracture.
Radial styloid impacts this. Risk of avascular necrosis. Snuffbox tenderness
What are the traits of Metacarpal Dislocation?
hard to grasp. Need repair of dorsal ligmaments. Common in “amature punch”

Put joint in position it was dislocated in, then pull traction, release. Splint

What are the traits of femur shaft fracture?
Direct traum, osteoporotic, mid shaft, Patella Cephalad, spasm of quad. PAIN w/ Motion. Traction splint

Prompt reduction, no XR, push dn on tibia=> put patella back
