Competence or Performance
What is a problem in what is being measured in the A not B task?
May just be testing infants motor skills of pointing
3 reasons as to why the A not B error occurs?
- Interaction between external factors and internal state.
- Combination of perceptual cues, past actions, delay between hiding and reaching of object
- New visual cue competes with established memory cue

- Need to understand the purpose and relevance of repeated questioning
- Doesn’t make practical sense
