Mughal Empire in India

A

Main religion of Mughal Empire was Hinduism - a polytheistic religion based on a cycle of reincarnation

but there were a substantial amount of Muslims in India. Their religion was Islam - a monotheistic religion from the Middle East teaching that Allah is God and Mohammad is his prophet.

Conflicts between Hindus and Muslims were one of the reasons centralized power in India was difficult to maintain.
