A

-The calling of the EG
-The government which 60% of pop could vote for would allow for debate over the reforms suggested at the meetings

d)Robespierre (led minority group of radical jacobin)- gave 500 speeches in NCA from 1789-1792 also earned his nickname as the “incorruptible”

What was the significance of political clubs?

A

-By 1791, French politics is becoming more divided and new newspapers thrived on discontent of masses which led to political demands

BUT:
-extent of republicanism cannot be overstated as Jacobin club was the most popular but by this point was not republican
-Radical clubs like cordeliers was centred in Paris so not widespread across France

-War: France declares war on Austria on the 20th April 1792
