A cell that has no differenciated to preform a specific purpose

Replace faulty blood cells in patients

Replace faulty cells in patients such as insulin producing cells (diabetic people), nerve cells (people with spinal injuries)
What is therapeutic cloning
Cloning using stem cells
Requires genetically identical cells to prevent them being rejected by the person
Risks of stem cells
Contaminated by viruses so can make a patient sicker
Why are people against the use of stem cells
People believe that embryos deserve the right to life and shouldn’t be experimented on
Why are people for the use of stem cells
People who are suffering deserve treatment over an embryo
Usually unwanted embryos from fertility clinics so would be destroyed otherwise

Throughout a plants life they can grown tissue from the meristem to any type of plant tissue

Produce clones of cells quickly and cheaply
Grown rare species of a plant
Grow identical plants that have desirable features
