What are they?
A
slow/inhibit uterine contractions to delay labor (premature labor)
Delay labor by 24-72 hours
-often enough time for fetus to develop normal lung function (corticosteroids given)

A
tachycardia in both mother and fetus

Adverse side effects: complete heart block, circulatory collapse, respiratory paralysis
