Q

Formulas of a history used to reach a diagnosis

A

Inductive Method - Ask all these broad questions to have a wealth of information, then start asking more closed questions to narrow down the options; good method to go back to when unsure or for inexperienced medics
Downside is time consumption

Hypothetico-deductive Model - Analyse information starting with the presenting complaint and consistently narrowing down differentials through deductive questioning

Pattern Recognition Process - Getting a few pieces of information and figuring it out; needs experience
