118 NAMP Fundamentals Flashcards
(44 cards)
State the Objective of the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP)
Achieve aviation material readiness and safety standards established by CNO and CNAF.
Describe the Organizational level of aviation maintenance
Performed by squadrons or units directly supporting flight operations; focuses on day-to-day upkeep to keep aircraft mission-ready
Describe the Intermediate level of aviation maintenance
Specialized maintenance that handle more complex repairs; reduces workload on O-level to keep aircraft operational without sending them to Depot.
Describe the Depot level of aviation maintenance
Long term overhaul, rebuilding, or upgrading of aircraft.
State the basic responsibilities of Maintenance/Production Control
Planning, scheduling and coordinating maintenance.
Prioritizing Workload.
Releasing aircraft and equipment ready for flight.
Discuss the purpose of a Daily Inspection
Good for 72 hours, 24 hours (from takeoff) once flown.
Discuss the purpose of a Turnaround Inspection
Done between flights or after maintenance, good for 24 hours
Discuss the purpose of a Special Inspection
Maintenance scheduled at prescribed intervals
Discuss the purpose of a Conditional Inspection
Un-scheduled maintenance (hard landing, bird strike, etc.)
Discuss the purpose of a Phase/ISIS Inspection
maintenance requirements divided into smaller packages (E6-B has 4)
Discuss the purpose of an Acceptance Inspection
Inspection when receiving aircraft for the very first time ever, either from another command or usually from the manufacturer
Discuss the purpose of a Transfer Inspection
Inspection when transferring the aircraft to another command
Discuss the purpose of a PDM Inspection
Programmed Depot Maintenance- require skills, equipment or facilities not normally possessed by operating locations
State the purpose of the Functional Check Flight (FCF)
FCFs are conducted when it is not feasible or possible to determine safe/required functioning by means of ground checks.
State the purpose of the Aircraft Discrepancy Book (ADB)
located in NALCOMIS; contains maintenance history, current gripes, MRC’s, etc.
State the purpose of the Aircraft Log Book
Records the aircraft’s flight hours, as well as various other records
State who is authorized to release an aircraft safe for flight
Personnel designated in writing by the CO (Maintenance control , aircraft commanders, etc.).
Discuss the Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRC’s)
Contains instructions necessary to perform scheduled maintenance tasks.
Discuss the Periodic Maintenance Information Cards (PMIC’s)
includes MRC’s, structural life limits, etc.
Define IPB as applied to aviation maintenance
Illustrated Parts Breakdown; document of a part that is broken down as far as it can be broken down. Every tiny little piece is listed and shown in an illustrated picture
Define MIMs as applied to aviation maintenance
Maintenance Instruction Manual; defines exactly how to perform maintenance on specific aircraft.
Define the concept of Quality Assurance (QA)
The prevention of the occurrence of defects.
Explain the responsibilities of the QAR
Perform mandatory QA inspections as specified in maintenance technical manuals, technical directives, and other directives.
Explain the responsibilities of the CDQAR
Supplement QA when needed to perform QAR level inspections while being assigned to the production work centers.
