Diphenhydramine- EXTRAS

A

Precautions: May precipitate an acute asthma attack due to thickening of the mucosal secretions. However, it should not be withheld from a patient having an allergic reaction simply due to a history of asthma

May increase intra-ocular pressure

Interactions: Use with caution for patients on sedatives, tranquilizers or alcohol

Onset in 1-15 minutes depending upon route used and may last 3-4 hours
