What factors affect population growth rate?
Sex ratio, generation time, # of females at reproduction age in cohort.
Would a higher ratio of females or males result in higher growth females? Why?
A higher ratio of females would make it higher because females are the ones that actually host the child.
Would a shorter or longer generation time make the growth rate larger?
A shorter generation time.
Would having more or less females at reproduction age make the growth rate larger? Why?
More because there are more people to reproduce.
What age is past reproduction age and what age is at reproduction age?
45-84+ is past and 15-44 is at reproduction age.
In an age structure diagram what would the growth rate me if there were more older people than younger people?
It wouuld have a low growth rate.
What are some concerns for countries that are growing rapidly?
They could begin to get scarce in resources like food and water.
What is the growth rate formula?
(Birth rate-death rate/1000)x100
What statistics change as a country begins to develope industrially and economically?
Death rate, birth rate, infant mortality, and average income.
