1

Define acquisition

A

period of initial learning in classical conditioning in which a human or an animal begins to connect a neutral stimulus and an unconditioned stimulus so that the neutral stimulus will begin to elicit the conditioned response

with the conditioned stimulus

Q

What are the 3 major types of learning ?

A

Classical conditioning : Pavlov- tied the instinct of a dog to drool to a bell. The An instinct to a condition

  1. Operant: skinner- worked with pigeons to train them to peck in a sign and would reward them randomly.
  2. Observational: Bandura- the kids watched as adults hit a Bobo doll and mimicked the same behavior

Q

Operant conditioning

A

form of learning in which the stimulus/experience happens after the behavior is demonstrated
-method of learning that occurs through rewards and punishments for behavior. Association is made between a behavior and consequence for the behavior
