A

A region of the brain that allows fluent speech production and comprehension. Damage to this region showed a disruption of people’s language comprehension. Discovered in 1874 by Carl Wernicke.

A

region of the cerebral cortex that controls the action of the body’s 600 voluntary muscles which is located just in front of the central sulcus in the frontal lobes.

Motor cortex is a term that describes regions of the cerebral cortex involved in the planning, control, and execution of voluntary movements.
