27
Q

How do the Wet Fire Protection Pipes work?

A

Filled with water all the time, fusible link on nozzle breaks and allows water flow.

28
Q

What areas are protected by Wet Piping?

A
Most normally accessible plant areas not covered by gaseous (water harmful) or heavy oil areas:
EDG rooms
Condensate Pmps
CCSW pmps
Clean/Dirty Oil Rooms
HeaterBays
538ft ceiling
RFP
MG Sets
CH
Trackway
SBO
29
Q

What is a Deluge Piping System?

A

Not normally filled, uses spray nozzles.

Deluge valve tripped electrically from signal.

30
Q

What electrical signal trips a deluge valve?

A

Xfrmr Differential current or sudden pressure
heat detector
push button
pull station

31
Q

What areas use Deluge Systems?

A
Turb Oil
H2 Seal Oil
2/3 DFP
U2& 3 Transformers
CH Basement and 2/3 DGCWPs
32
Q

What is a Pre-action piping system?

A

Not normally filled and uses closed sprinkler heads and deluge valves; used in areas that may be exposed to below freezing temps.

signal opens deluge valve, but will not dischage unless fusible link broken

33
Q

What areas have pre-action piping systems?

A
Unit HPCI Rooms
Tb ground floor outside AEER
U2 SA & IAC Area
TB EHC Area
U2 & 3 RB Hatchways
U2TB Cable concentration area.
34
Q

What are autostart setpoints for DFPs?

A

U2/3 - 80psig
U1 - 75psig (Also loss of AC or 1 DC Feed)
Screenwash - 70psig
