A worker must be responsible for:
- Their own health and safety
- That their own actions don’t adversely affect the health and safety of other people
- That they comply with any reasonable instruction given by the PCBU
-That they cooperate with policy or procedure relating to health and safety
Under the HSWA, what are the three types of risk?
Static risk - predictable
Dynamic risk - non-predictable
Critical risk - risk of death/serious harm
What related accidents, incidents, deaths, and injuries and near misses can be warnings of what?
Poorly controlled risks.
What is a near miss ?
A near miss is an unplanned unexpected event
That under slightly different circumstances
Could have resulted in harm, but didn’t.
What do you do if a near miss occurs?
Report it in my Police as an incident.
What constitutes a notifiable event under the HSWA?
Death, serious injury, or notable incident
Arising from **work activities **
** anything unrelated to work is not a notable event
What is the threshold to make an injury or illness notifiable?
All injuries or illnesses
That require a person to be admitted to hospital for immediate treatment
