16
Q

Where is apex of heart?

A

Intersection of L mid clavicular line and fifth intercostal space (roughly xiphosternal joint)

17
Q

Where is R border?

A

Vertical level of the R margin of the sternum

18
Q

Venous drainage is accomplished by what predominantly?

A

Great, middle and small cardiac veins

19
Q

Where does great cardiac vein drain and where does it run?

A

L atrium and both ventricles, anterior interventricular groove

20
Q

Where does small cardiac vein drain and where does it run?

A

R atrium and some right ventricle, coronary sulcus/atrioventricular groove

21
Q

Where does middle cardiac vein drain and where does it run?

A

Ventricles, posterior interventricular groove

22
Q

What are components of the pacemaker system?

A

SA node -> AV node -> Atrioventricular Bundle of His -> 2x Purkinje fibres (supplies paipllary muscles in ventricles)

23
Q

What consists atrioventricular bundle of His?

A

2 bundles of Purkinje fibres which go to L and R ventricles

24
Q

Where is SA node located?

A

anterolateral wall of R atrium below opening of SVC

25
Where is AV node located?
interatrial septum below opening of coronary sinus
26
What innervates the heart?
cardiac plexus and phrenic nerves
27
What consists the cardiac plexus and what are their functions?
fine branches from upper sympathetic trunk (increases rate and force of contraction) and vagus (decrease rate and force of contraction)
28
What is the role of phrenic nerves in the heart?
Pass through fibrous pericardium and carry sensory (pain) fibres from serious parietal pericardium
29
Name divisions of the coeliac trunk
left gastric artery, common hepatic artery, splenic artery
30
What supplies the diaphragm?
Superior - musculophrenic artery | Inferior - inferior phrenic artery
31
Where do internal thoracic artery branch from?
subclavian artery
32
Where does R subclavian come from?
Extends from the R brachiocephalic
