Gastroenterologist—a physician who treats and diagnoses diseases of the digestive tract.
Geriatrician—a physician who concentrates on the treatment of elderly persons.
Gerontologist—a professional who studies the problem of the aging population in society and usually is not a medical doctor.
Internist—a physician who specializes in diagnostic procedures and treatment of nonsurgical cases.
Ophthalmologist—a physician who diagnoses and treats eye diseases and disorders, performs eye surgery, refracts the eyes, and prescribes corrective eye glasses and lenses.
Orthopedist—a physician who specializes in diseases and injuries to bones, muscles, joints, and tendons. An orthopedic surgeon is a physician who specializes in surgical procedures relating to the bones, muscles, joints, and tendons.
Osteopath—a doctor of osteopathy, not an allopathic trained medical doctor, who uses methods of diagnosis and treatment that are similar to those of a medical doctor, but who places special emphasis on the interrelationship of the musculoskeletal to the other body systems.
Proctologist—a physician specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of the large intestine, particularly the rectum and anus.
Psychiatrist—a physician who specializes in the treatment of mental disorders
Psychoanalyst—a psychiatrist who specializes in the use of psychoanalytic technique of therapy.
Psychologist—one, not a physician, who studies the function of the mind and behavioral patterns and administers psychological tests.
Rheumatologist—a physician who specializes in the treatment of rheumatic and arthritic diseases.
