What are the two mechanisms of diarrhoea in calfs and piglets?

Secretory & Malabsorpative

How does an animal infected with BVDV acquire mucosal disease?

They will get this if the non cytopathogenic form develops into the cytopathogenic strain

How is mucosal disease due to BVDV distinguished from FMD?

FMD would have vesicles on the oral mucosa and skin

What will happen to the immune response to a vaccine if MDA levels are high at the time of vaccination?

The MDA will interfere with the vaccine antigens and an adaptive immune response will not be as effective leaving the animal still vulnerable to disease.
