- Look at dentures on casts and assess problems
- Underextended – reline if denture aesthetics/function is good, remake if not
- Locked occlusion – remake or replica with cuspless teeth
- Anterior flange missing or too thin - reline
- Midline diastema fracture prone/frenal notch over extended – remake denture and ask lab to close diastema
- Base plate too thin/fracture prone – rebase or remake (communicate with lab)
- Tori – relieve clinically or if denture too thin, remake and ensure undercuts relieved
- Tooth positioning wrong – remake
- Too long occlusal table (too many posterior teeth over the tuberosities) – remake or grind down posterior teeth
- Flabby ridge – mucostatic impression
