Q
what to do for cementation of crown/bridge/veener
A
- Disinfect received prosthesis
- Removal of provisional restoration and cleaning of abutments with pumice
- Try in – check fit, margins, occlusion (shimstock), guidances and aesthetics
o Have pt seated upright, with gauze or sticky stick to protect airway - Fitting surface treated as appropriate (usually done by lab)
- Clean fitting surface
- Treat tooth as appropriate – isolate with split dam, etch, prime/bond
- Apply cement to fitting surface and seat firmly and fully
- Remove excess cement and floss margins (contact points)
- Check occlusion and adjust if need be
- Check pt is happy, give post-op instructions (avoid hard foods) and advise on cleaning

Q
what to cement crowns with
A
- Porcelain fused to metal/MCC – Aquacem GI luting cement, RelyX RMGI luting cement, NEXUS/RelyX/Panavia dual cured resin cements
- Metal crown - Aquacem GI luting cement, RelyX RMGI luting cement, NEXUS/RelyX/Panavia dual cured resin cements

Q
how to cement bridge and what with
A
- Adhesive bridgework – Panavia anaerobic dual cure resin luting cement
o Fit surface of retainer (CoCr or NiCr) sandblasted for micromechanical retention
o Oxygen inhibitor (Oxyguard) placed around cement margins for 3 mins then washed off
o Opaque material useful in anteriors to block metal show-through - All metal conventional and metal ceramic bridgework – Aquacem GI luting cement, RelyX RMGI luting cement
o For resin base cement, initial 10s tack cure, remove excess cement, then fully cure - All ceramic bridgework – NEXUS dual cure resin luting cement
o Fit surface treated with HF acid and silanated
