At all times while performing service truck duties
What must be done to the service truck prior to shift change?
The service truck must be cleaned inside and out
What is the service truck driver’s responsibility regarding the air pressure in spare cylinders?
Check the air pressure in the spare cylinders
What action must be taken if the pressure in any spare cylinder is below 4000 psi?
It must be recharged to the maximum (4500 psi)
What should be done if there is no service truck driver available?
The station captain will assign someone to do the vehicle check and cylinder check.
What does PPE stand for?
Personal Protective Equipment
According to Regina Fire & Protective Services (RFPS) Policy 110-09, what must the service truck driver wear?
The service truck driver must be dressed according to RFPS Policy 110-09 Uniform Clothing.
Where should the service truck driver not wear their PPE?
PPE is not to be worn in living quarters, headquarters, or the ETC.
What must the service truck driver announce upon arrival at an active incident?
The driver must announce arrival on-scene (OS), available on radio (AOR), available in quarters (AIQ), etc.
Who must the service truck driver report to upon arrival at an incident?
The Incident Commander.
What is one of the responsibilities of the service truck during an active incident?
Moving hose, pickup and delivery of air tanks.
What must be done with all picked up hazardous materials (hazmat)?
They must be bagged and tagged with specific information.
What information must be included on the hazmat tag?
- Responding officer’s name
- Incident number
- Content description
- Vehicle license plate number (if known)
What must be done if materials are not clearly marked?
Contact the ECC to identify the responsible officer.
Where must picked up hazmat be placed?
Inside yellow overpack bins with secured lids.
What is a Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) legal requirement regarding hazmat?
Enter the number of bags and description of contents into the binder inside the hazmat bin.
What is the service truck driver’s responsibility for pickups?
Pickup and delivery of all mail and tagged items at each station and the ETC.
What must all firefighter PPE items be contained in?
An RFPS issued gear bag.
What should be done if personal items are not in gear bags?
They will NOT be delivered by the service truck.
How often should mail be picked up and delivered during the day shift?
Once during the day shift and, if possible, once during the night shift.
What is the pickup schedule for mail at HQ?
08:30 and 13:30 hours Monday to Friday.
