A

NMDA lets in to much calcium which causes:
-oxidative stress (free rad production)
- calcium dependant enzymes e.g phospholipase (breaks down cell wall) kinase , endonuclease degrade DNA
-damages the mitochondria
causing necrosis and apoptosis
