-virtually any act of communication can be seen from a moral point of view

-weighing benefits and limitations

-whatever persuader can get away with, constrained only by law
-ppl deserve what they get

-treat others as you would like to be treated

-buyer beware
-responsibility placed on receivers

-inherent rightness or wrongness of the persuader's intent
-good intent --> ethical
-bad intent --> unethical
