Pedigrees
A
Pedigrees are used by genetic counsellors to Trace genotypes or phenotypes in a family and by breeders to track inheritance of different traits. Pedigrees represent males with squares, females with circles and affected individuals with shaded figures. A disorder is X linked if more males have it than females and autosomal if as many males have it as females. If an individual is affected with a trait but neither of its parents were, that trait is recessive.
