The nucleus, vesicles, Golgi bodies and both types of ER
Why so cystic fibrosis patients take dietary supplements
Sticky mucus clogs pancreatic ducts
Cystic fibrosis cause
The CTFR malfunctions
Ketone vs aldehyde
A ketone has an R group in place of a hydrogen
Are magnesium levels directly or inversely related to mortality
Inversely
Highest geographic area of magnesium deficiency
Maghreb vs mashriq
Western Hemisphere
Maghreb is the western half of the arab world and mashriq is the eastern
Hydrolysis reactions
Its a hydrolysis reaction whenever water is one of the reactants. They turn two alcohols into an ether and a carboxyl with an amino into an amide. The reaction that turns ATP to ADP is hydrolysis.
What are branches of a molecule
Conditions for carbocations
Groups added to the longest carbon chain
The central carbon has three bonds and a positive charge
Fatty acids
Fatty acids are chains of carbon and hydrogen. Tightly packed ones are solid at room temperature. Waxes are hydrophobic nonpolar molecules that have long ones bonded to carbon rings or alcohols. triglycerides have three (14-22 carbons each) bonded to three carboxyls attached to a three carbon alkane called glycerol. Phospholipids have two bonded to a glycerol, a phosphate group and an R group. Most vegetable oil is polyunsaturated fat.
