what does warming up consist of and why and provide examples

A
  • activity to raise heart rate gradually to enable oxygen to get to the wokring muscles in a greater quantity e.g. walking, jogging, light swim
  • stretching to increase range of movement at a joint to decrease chnace of injury e.g. active, passive, dynamic or static stretching
  • higher intensity and activity-specific movements used in the sport e.g. drills/ tactics
