what are some contorllable factors affecting performance

A
  • Effort level: The level of effort that is put in by the performer is entirely down to them. The performer may well try hard on one occasion, then wish they had tried harder the next.
    Effort is also required for training.
  • Motivation: A performer must be motivated to do all the right things including how to train, recover, eat, sleep, listen to advice, etc.
  • Psychological control: A performer must find ways to control their psychological state, including their arousal and emotions. Performers must show determination without direct aggression or breaking the rules.
  • tactics and strategies: A performer can control the tactics and strategies that they use within their physical
  • Diet and nutrition: A performer can control what they eat and drink in preparation for an event and during
    recovery.
  • Skill level: Skills can be learned and refined so a performer can work hard to improve their level of skill.

  • environment: a performer cannot control the surface, weather conditionsnor environmental factors in which they are competing
  • ability: ability is inherited and is something you are born with. it cannot be directly controlled.
  • opposition: a performer has no direct control over the ability level or performance pf those opposing hem in competition
  • referees and umpires: a performer cannot control decisioons made by officials
  • access: a performer cannot control what is avavailable to them in terms of sporting provision. where they live can be a barrier to performance due to a lack of facilities.
  • luck: no one prove if it actually exists, but a performer has no control over the level of luck

if thers is no provision for an acitvity, it would negatively affect someone’s ability to participate and thier performance level is likely to be poor, if posisble at all.
