Q

desribe input part of basic information processing model

A
  • information is taken in from the ‘display’
  • then the perfromer will choose which sense is the most important at that given time
e.g. sight when watching a netball travel through the air. this is called selective attention

Q

describe decision making part of the basic information processing model

A
  • performer selects an appropriate repsonse from memory, perhaps one they have used before e.g. making decision to catch the netball
  • recalled to short term memory from long term memory

Q

describe the output part of the basic information processing model

A
  • the decision is sent to appropriate muscle to carry out the response.
e.g. impulses sent to arms and hands to start the appropriate muscular movements to catch the netball

Q

describethe feedback part of the basic information processing model

A
  • information recieved by performer (intrinsic) and/ or from other people (extrinsic)
  • feedback recieved may affect how you complete this skill in the future e.g. u feel the ball in your hands (intrinsic)mand your teams cheer when you catch it (extrinsic)
  • feedback is grouped into technical feedback about quality of performance (knowledge of performance) or about the result of the performance (knowledge of results)

Q

what type of feedback are cognitive learner more likely to respond positively to and why

Q

in what ways is feedback important

A
  • informs future performance
  • allows adjustments to be made
  • performer knows if the correct technique was correct
  • performer knows if the result was successful
  • should be accurate and truthful
  • should be concise/ to the point
  • should be provided immediately
  • should be easy to understand
