A

The office of the superintendent.

The Colonel shall immediately notify:

EAU (employee assistance unit)

A ranking member to personally contact the members, immediate family, however, every effort should be made to use a department personal friend along with the ranking member.

If the family chooses, the colonel may appoint a liaison member

A

They shall provide additional assistance to the immediate family of the deceased, injured member, or retiree

One of the responsibilities is to coordinate the families efforts to determine the status and amount of compensation, to which the deceased member may be entitled.
