While in uniform, may I participate in social functions?
No, you may not unless authorized by the division commander.
May not consume alcohol or tobacco in any form, smoke cigarettes, or vape pens, chew gum, or have any full objects, but protruding from your mouth when you are in view of the public or formation.
When do I need to have my riot gear?
All members and undercover show carry all issued right here in the trunk of their cruiser.
OIC in a riot/disturbance may designate the following items optional :
Neck and tie class frost trap main tag, badge of office, whistle and chain and gas mask
Or use of force equipment has defined in UOF-04.
Summer uniform
April 15 through October 14
Winter uniform
October 15 through April 14
Winter shirt, optional for 30 days before and after this.
What is the only ribbon or metal authorized in the class B summer or winter uniform?
Service ribbon
What if the long sleeve shirt/sweater is authorized in the summer?
The necktie and tie clasp shall be worn without the cross strap.
How is the optional sweater worn?
Tucked into breeches with cross strap removed with badge on left chest and name tag on right chest.
If the long sleeve super shirt or issued sweater is worn then:
A necktie and tie class shall be worn without the cross strap.
If the armor skin and long sleeve super shirt is worn a necktie WITHOUT tie clasp SHALL be worn tucked under the armor skin without the cross strap
The super shirt has the buttons
The base shirt is the polo shirt that goes under the armorskin .
Armorskin is the ballistic base carrier.
When are you authorized to wear specialty uniforms?
When authorized by their division commander. Only members who are performing a specialized function shall wear a specialty uniform.
The DST commander may revise this for uniforms:
May revise the duty uniform of personal assigned of the Academy.
What about service Chevrons?
Worn one for every two years of service
Not worn by commissioned and noncommissioned officers .
What is the position of the tie clasp?
Horizontal even with the name tag.
Hi visibility, safety apparel Shell be warm during all hours and lighting conditions when engaged in these activities:
Directing traffic
All road and highway motor vehicle crashes
When working at lane enclosures and obstructed roadways
On all road and high work zones and construction details, including moving details
Special special or significant events when ordered by the OIC
What is the department issue Service ribbon?
blue/white/blue
WHILE IN CLASS B UNIFORM Members who have attained 10 years of service are allowed to wear this over the LEFT breast pocket of the shirt, (same side as the badge).
If applicable one gold star for each additional five years of service to be inserted into the white section of the ribbon.
