What is the drug class of Dopamine?
Sympathomimetic amine and adrenergic agonist; endogenous catecholamine
What are the uses of Dopamine (hint: dosing is important with regards to effects)?
-various uses and hemodynamic effects are dose dependent b/c different receptors are recruited with different dosing of the drug
-In low doses can inhibit the secretion of aldosterone and cause diuresis
-Medium doses: are used to increase CO and have been utilized in managing CHF and resp failure.
-Large doses: used to Increase BP and CO
