Production at rest
When at rest, your body’s demand for ATP is low and it has an abundant oxygen supply, so the energy required for the resynthesis of ATP is provided almost exclusively by the aerobic energy system.
What does the body use at rest
In this state, your body relies on the breakdown of fats to provide about two-thirds of the energy required with the remaining one-third coming from the breakdown of carbohydrates
ATP production during exercise
There is no exact or definitive point where one energy system drops off and another energy system becomes the major energy supplier. Rather, there is a gradual transition from one system being the major supplier to another system assuming the primary contribution to ATP resynthesis.
