- Lack of weapons and ammunition
- Only a small number of Irish fighters took part
- So much confusion leading up to the rising
- Britain had greater number of soldiers and more weapons
- rebels based themselves in areas they could be easily surrounded
- many civilians didn’t realise the significance of the Venetian until after
Consequences of the Easter Rising:
485 were killed
Damage to buildings and property

3,000 people were sent to British prisons
Ninety leaders of the rising were sentenced to death
