jaw claudication
vision testing: anterior ischaemic optic neuropathy (swollen pale disc and blurred margins on fundoscopy)
amaurosis fugax
tender, palpable temporal artery

raised inflammatory markers
temporal artery biopsy (skip lesions)

A
urgent high dose glucocorticoids
- if evolving visual loss IV methylprednisolone instead of high dose prednisolone
