What is anxiety?
unrealistic/unfounded fear of stimuli
Symptoms of a panic disorder?
Episodic acute anxiety attacks
Shortness of breath
Dizziness/Faintness
What is anticipatory anxiety?
afraid of anxiety attacks and anxiety related symptoms
What are physiological anxiety symptoms?
increased heart rate, hard breathing
Treatment for anticipatory anxiety?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
How does CBT work?
exposes patient to fears and over time patient habituates to fear stimulus.
