What is Facilities Planning (training environments)?
A
The effectiveness of a training program is enhanced if the training environment is conducive to the training methods and content.
- Theater style - lectures, videos
- Classroom style - computer-based training, good for taking notes
- Banquet style - group work and interactions
- Chevron style - easy to interact with both the presenter and other participants
- Conference style - closed square, good for group discussion, especially with everyone having equal status
- U-shaped style - similar to conference but you have an instructor at the top of the square; good for case discussions

What are the accessibility and ADA compliance regarding facilities planning?
A
ADA requires employers to make reasonable accommodations for trainees with physical limitations.
Considerations:
* Physical setting of the training facility
* Access to facilities
* Special requirements to access course material for hearing or visually impaired

A
- Fair use: one free copy, less than 250 words from a book, or less than 5% of a journal
- Public domain: ex. government documents
